We are halfway through the 2008 racing season and the South Carolina Region is again active both in Regional and National racing. We have 25 racers participating in Regional races (the South Atlantic Road Racing Championship (SARRC)) which is about normal and 4 (a big drop) participating in National races. These range from the racer who does an occasional regional (SARRC) race to racers going after a SARRC or National championship.

It's time for South Carolina Region to go road racing!
Registration is now open for the 2008 Buck Muse Memorial Double SARRC, March 29-30 at the new, improved Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw. The new track configurations are complete, and the early reviews are very, very positive!

This event was originally scheduled for March 16, but has been moved further out to allow us more adequate time to promote and plan the event. In addition, North Charleston Coliseum has agreed to to host our July Fairway Subaru South Carolina Autocross Championship event there on the following day, July 13.

The SCR Autocross Rules are now updated for 2008. The only major changes are (1) elimination of "shoe polish" numbers (painter's tape will be provided for those without magnetic/vinyl numbers), (2) revisions to the passenger rule to allow Pro class drivers to ride with Novices, and (3) conversion of Novice to an "in-event trophy" class vs. a points-earning class.
